PF Online Transfer Step-by-Step Guide

Transferring your Provident Fund (EPF & EPS) online is now a seamless process through the EPFO Unified Portal. If you have changed jobs or having multiple Member Id’s within same organization and want to transfer your PF balance from your previous employer to the new one OR previous member id to the new member id, follow this step-by-step guide.

Step-by-Step Process for PF Online Transfer:

  • Enter your UAN (Universal Account Number) and Password and the given Captcha and click on “Sign In” button.
  • Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and given Captcha and click on “Submit” button.
  • Under ‘Online Services’ section/Tab; Click on ‘ONE MEMBER – ONE EPF ACCOUNT (TRANSFER REQUEST)’. Your “Personal Information” and “Details of present account into which transfer will be affected” will be displayed.
  • Scroll down and Under Section “Step 1 : Select details of previous accounts (which are to be transferred)”; Enter UAN or Previous Member ID within given box of Member ID / UAN : *. And Click on Get Details Button
  • Tick on the Previous Member Id’s which need to be transferred You will be given an option to attest the transfer request via either your previous employer or current employer. Choose an employer who is more responsive in approving the request.
  • Under Section “Step 2: Authenticate OTP & Submit” Tick on the Consent Box and Click on Get OTP button; Enter OTP received within your mobile and Click on Submit button. Your Transfer request is now initiated successfully. You can download the pdf reflecting on the screen itself. Your whole EPF and EPS amount from previous UAN or Previous Member Id’s will get transferred to Current UAN or Current Member Id within the TAT as described by EPFO (Normally within 25 working days after the approval by your employer).

Important Points to Remember

  • Ensure your UAN is activated and Aadhaar, PAN, and bank details are updated in the EPFO portal.
  • Verify that all details (name, date of birth, UAN, etc.) are correct.
  • Check the Previous Member Id’s and Current Member Id by clicking on Service History under View section/Tab.
  • Ensure that DOE of previous Member Id and DOJ of Other Member Id’s do not overlap.
  • Your previous and current employer must have approved digital signatures for smooth processing.
  • If online transfer is unsuccessful, check the rejection reason reflecting within EPF Passbook and contact your employer for further resolution.
